How Online Classes work
Online courses at BGSU have no set meeting dates or times so they offer you the flexibility of logging in and completing your coursework at times that are convenient for you. To help ensure your success and keep you on track the courses begin and end on the semester schedule and assignments and tests have specific deadlines.
Delivered completely online via Blackboard, you will find that BGSU online courses deliver the same quality content as face to face courses while using technologically advanced methods and providing a high level of interaction with your instructor and classmates.

Online Experience - Orientation for Online Learners
This orientation is designed to look just like an online course you may take
in the future. You will find many useful topics
geared towards helping you understand what it
means to be an online student. Read
through the information and take the quizzes
to find out if online learning is right for you.
The BGSU Online Experience should
take between 30 min. - 60 min. to complete.
1.
Logging in to Blackboard - Go to http://my.bgsu.edu and log in to Blackboard as a guest. Type in the following username and password:

2. Entering the Classroom - When logged in to Blackboard, look on the right side of the page for the box
titled “My Blackboard Classes” and click on BGSU Online Experience.
3. Navigation - You have now entered the orientation classroom. Familiarize yourself with
the environment by using the buttons on the left side of the page
to navigate throughout the classroom.
4. Quizzes - Feel free to take a look at the quizzes within the orientation. Upon completion,
you will be able to see your score and some comments. Your score
will not be saved for viewing later on.
5. Logging out of Blackboard - In the upper right corner of the Blackboard page, you will see three icons. Click
the Logout button to the far right.
